First priority was to drop our mast, then buy seven additional fenders from a British boat who had just completed their canal transit.

Our first stop on the Rhone was the city of Arles, immortalized by Van Gogh.
the 2000-year-old amphitheatre in Arles was setting up for the bullfights
before the corrida the bulls are run through the streets
horses slow the bull so participants can grab the bull
After a fierce rainstorm, the level of the river rose 90 cm overnight, so we waited a day for the current and debris to lessen before we headed upstream.
